Band of Brothers Part II: USAAF Bomb Groups of the Eighth Air Force 1942-45
Published In Part To Support The American Air Museum, Duxford, England

It is October1944. With a rumble of thunder in the air a summer storm
sweeps across the landscape as B-17 Fortresses of the 381st Bomb Group
return from a deep penetration daylight raid.  Descending into their base
at Ridgewell, several of the returning aircraft have received damage
from flak or fighters; one of the last stragglers having made the trip home
with part of her bomb bay shot away.  However, the beautiful Essex
countryside, stretching to the horizon, welcomes the weary crews home.
