On April 18,1943 Lanphier was the lead pilot in the "Killer" flight on the famous Yamamoto mission
                    He was credited by many to have shot down the bomber Yamamoto was in
     Lanphier died in San Diego on 11/26/1987
               His signature is very rare and 99% of all Ace signature collectors do not have his signature
  Lanphier had an interesting life. He was a graduate of Stanford University, flew 97 combat missions in WWII finishing the war
      with 7 air victories and was the Vice Presidential candidate for Stuart Symington in the 1960 Presidential campaign
